Spanish language teaching-learning process in Senegal
Enseñanza-aprendizaje de ELE en Senegal from teaching strategies to teacher innovation
Main Article Content
This article undertakes to discuss the strategies carried out in the Senegalese education system. Next, it allows us to highlight perspectives regarding ELE teaching-learning in Senegal that, paradoxically, was colonized by France but a large number of students choose to learn the Spanish language. Thus, it should be noted that Spanish has a very striking future but what is needed is to know how to innovate in the way of learning and teaching languages by the way: What are the capacities and skills that must be counted on in order to efficiently plan the direction of a class or session? How to attend to the difficulties of the students and value their learning? How are they learning, and in the face of this, how to design the best spaces so that they can effectively appropriate the knowledge and apply it in other contexts? What models do students bring and how can they be kept in mind from planning? To finish concluding with the pedagogical sense of the concept of "strategy" that refers to the set of decisions and work techniques, methods and operations that contemplate the modernization and improvement of the different components of teaching. Given the new acquisitions of general teaching, teaching strategies can be defined as "Methods, processes, means and forms of organization of the instruction / self-instruction activity, integrated into operational structures, which are basically a systemic vision and which have the role of guaranteeing active learning and creating knowledge and skills and streamlining the process of instruction ”(Littlewood, 1998: 75). Finally, this article rests on the evaluation of initial tests, the analysis of which has allowed us a long way to go since students experience difficulties in developing communication skills, from which the teacher's urgent need to continue developing strategies if he wants to conduct a innovative language class.
